What is a Pingback

By default, WordPress, uses Pingback to advise other Blogs that you have linked to their post. The diagram below shows how Pingback works in notifying and confirming of the link.

Pingback is similar to trackback and automatically notifies other blogs when they are linked to. WordPress uses Pingback instead of trackback. This illustration shows how pingback works.
